A few tips to keep in mind when doing your knee lymphedema exercises:

  • Do exercises slowly so muscles give maximum pressure to move swelling.
  • Always breathe normally when doing your exercises.
  • Follow exercise sequence your therapist developed for you
  • If exercises cause dizziness, shortness of breath, pain or extreme fatigue stop immediately - take it easier and if this still happens notify your therapist to see why.
  • Increase water intake unless your therapist gives other directions
  • Never "arch" your back or neck when doing your exercises.
